2 dead, 1 injured as helicopter crash-landed in Lagos home

A helicopter belonging to Quorom Aviation with three persons onboard has crashed into a residence at 16 Salvation Road, Opebi area of Lagos State, around 12 noon today.
It was gathered that two persons, including the pilot, died immediately while the third person was found unconscious and was immediately rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for proper treatment.
The General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the incident said the injured person has been rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital while the dead bodies have been deposited in a mortuary.
Mr. Oke-Osanyintolu said, “The agency received distress calls concerning a privately operated helicopter that crashed into 16A Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja and immediately activated the emergency response plan.
“The helicopter was carrying three people, one is in the intensive care unit at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, while the other two were killed on impact and their bodies have been deposited in a mortuary. We are on top of challenges, especially crowd control. The operation is ongoing and updates will follow.”
Mr. Oke-Osanyintolu said the cause of the crash was yet unknown, adding that the victims were yet to be identified.
