The Agbaka of Alagbaka Akure, Prince Afolabi Obasuyi has charged the Ondo State Government to erect fire posts in every community in the state for the immediate response of the fire service in case of a fire outbreak in such areas.
Prince Obasuyi while reacting to the fire outbreak at the Akure INEC headquarters, made this known to newsmen today in his Alagbaka residence.
He said that the damage done to over 5,000 card readers that were to be used in the forthcoming governorship election in the state, by the inferno could have been avoided if there were to be close fire stations and immediate response by the fire team.
Prince Obasuyi however, urged the government to equip the Ondo State Fire Service with more equipment for easier discharge of their duties. He added that the protocols followed to reach the fire service should be made flexible in case of emergencies.
