2023: Youth leading in voter registration exercise as INEC give fresh updates

Young people between the ages (18-35) are leading the number of Nigerians participating in the continuous voter registration exercise according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Young people between the ages (18-35) are leading the number of Nigerians participating in the continuous voter registration exercise according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Commission in a fresh update on Monday on its website said the total fresh registrants as of 7 am on January 17, 2022, has hit 5,027,204 with the youth portion taking 1,783,313.

The analysis said completed online and physical registration stands at 2,563,068.

Male applications were at 1,292,823 while female applications were put at 1,270,245 respectively.

People living with disabilities (PWDs) recorded 24,129.

The Commission explained that online and physical applications recorded 1,054,501 and 1,508,567.
