UNIPC inaugurates Nigeria peace council coordinators

Babalola Muyiwa, Secretary General of the United Nations International Peace Volunteer Council has inaugurated the Peace Council Coordinators (PCC) in all the states and local government areas of southern western regions of Nigeria.

Babalola Muyiwa, Secretary General of the United Nations International Peace Volunteer Council has inaugurated the Peace Council Coordinators (PCC) in all the states and local government areas of southern western regions of Nigeria.

The PCC is a program of the Universal Peace Federation, World Dialogue Council & Universal Peace Council with the inauguration that took place in Abuja on Thursday.

The UNIPC Secretary General, “if we all understand that we need to live well with one another, Nigeria will be a better place for all”.

Mr Babalola stated that , everyone should work together for the unity of Nigeria. He added the the Peace Council in Nigeria is an initiative that will drive and move the country to peaceful and harmonious society.

Governor Abubaka Sani Bello of Niger state represented by his commissioner for infformation and srategy, Muhammed Idris said that the governor is a lover of peace in all ramification.

He also noted that inaugurating Peace Council members across the states came at the right time adding that talking about peace today is all about action to sustainable development and congratulated the newly appointed Coordinators.

Also speaking Brig.Gen.Paul Boroh (Rtd) highlighted factors that promote peace that includes seeking understanding, promoting economic and social stability, Advocating for equality, and choosing democratic principles.

He further stated further that gathering for inauguration of peace council in Nigeria is not the main target, but also to create a public awareness on the need and the importance of a sustainable peace among Nigerians, Africans and the world at large.

“Peace can only be achieved, if people can respect each other views. Peace provides a valuable opportunity to access our progress. When people start to respect others feelings and their religion, people starts to develop in that religion, without peace, there is no development.”

He pointed that peace is a secret pin-code that can open up the avenue of success, prosperity and progress in life among others.
