Abike Dabiri-Erewa reappointed as NiDCOM chair

President Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed Abike Dabiri-Erewa as chair of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) for a second term in office.

President Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed Abike Dabiri-Erewa as chair of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) for a second term in office.

The development was contained in a letter seeking the request by the president to confirm her nomination for a second term in office.

The letter was read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday.

Dabiri-Erewa was appointed in 2019 as the pioneer chair of the commission, a commission domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Before her appointment, Dabiri-Erewa was the senior special assistant to the president on foreign affairs and diaspora.

She also served in the House of Representatives representing the Ikorodu federal constituency in Lagos.

Also, the president in another letter, asked the Senate to appoint six commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The president nominated Ayogu Eze (Enugu state), Peter Opara (Imo state), and Hauwa Aliyu (Jigawa state).

Others are Tanko Ayuba Haruna (Kebbi state), Ismaila Mohammed (Kwara state), and Kolawole Daniel Abimbola (Oyo state).
