The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has increased tariffs for airport toll gates in the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The development is contained in a public notice released by FAAN and seen on Wednesday by TechnocratMedia.
“Below are the new changes in tariff for FAAN “Airport” toll gates effective from August 1, 2023”, the notice reads.
“Cars—N300; Bus/SUV—N500; Trucks (6 tyres)—N1,000 and Trailer/Container—N2,000”
Before the increase in tariffs, cars were paying N200; buses—N300; SUVs—N300 and trucks—N500 respectively.
Tariffs for trucks and trailers were increased by 50 per cent and 75 per cent.
This comes when motorists and citizens face a hard time following the removal of fuel subsidies and the devaluation of the country’s currency.
A litre of petroleum now sells for N617 across the country—a situation that brought untold hardship for many Nigerians and companies with the headline inflation rate hitting 22.79 per cent last month.
