Senate begins screening of ministerial nominees on first come, first basis

The upper chamber of the National Assembly is to begin the screening of the 28 ministerial nominees sent by President Bola Tinubu.

Last week, Godswill Akpabio, president of the Senate announced 28 names who have been appointed to become ministers by the President.

The Senate also announced that their screening will commence today, July 31 because of the importance attached to the exercise.

Sources disclosed that 20 out of the 28 had completed their documentation, screened by security agencies and are ready for the exercise today.

TechnocratMedia also learnt that some of the nominees who are yet to show up for documentation are out of the country at the moment.

The nominees will face the lawmakers to answer various questions on nation-building and how they will use their offices to better the lives of citizens.
