President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently presiding over the inaugural Federal Executive Council meeting (FEC) of his administration at the council chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which commenced at past noon, is being attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and the new ministers who were sworn in last week Monday.
Others include the Chief of State to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan and other top government functionaries.
The FEC is to serve as an advisory body to the President, who serves as the FEC’s chair as stated in the ministers’ statutory powers and auties act, backed by the constitution of the country.
The council is the federal government cabinet in the executive arm with the role to serve as an advisory body to the President, who chairs and presides over its meetings.
