Ondo 2020: Ajayi accuses Akeredolu, APC of sponsoring thugs to attack ZLP supporters and campaign office

Ondo State deputy governor and the Zenith Labour Party’s governorship candidate in the forthcoming election, Mr. Agboola Ajayi has accused the state governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of sponsoring political thugs who have been responsible for the recent attacks on his supporters and destruction of posters and secretariat.

The Director-General of Agboola/Gboye Campaign Organisation, Kola Ademujimi, after a fresh attack was launched at the campaign office on Wednesday in Akure, said the incessant attacks on ZLP supporters and properties is becoming alarming.

Mr. Ademujimi said, “Akeredolu’s thugs are threatening the lives and properties of members of ZLP and those of other parties in various parts of the state.

“They destroyed chairs, tables, and inflicted injuries on our supporters at their ward meeting in Ile-Oluji.

“They also destroyed Agboola Ajayi’s billboards at our campaign office in Akure.

“They destroyed our flags and posters in Idanre during Aketi/APC’s campaign tour of Idanre yesterday (Tuesday).

“I think they are out to cause mayhem even before the October governorship election in Ondo State.

“We are calling on all security agencies to live up to their expectations before the opposition parties are forced to act in self-defense.”

Technocrat Media gathered that the armed thugs who were five in numbers allegedly came in a branded APC vehicle, threatened the security man, Mr. Gbenga Olayoriju, and destroyed posters, chairs, tables, and billboards.
