Ondo 2020: Osun indigenes supports Akeredolu’s reelection

Osun indigenes residing in Ondo state have promised Ondo State Governor and the All Progressives Congress’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in the state, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, of its support for his second term bid.

This was made known by the group’s spokesperson, Mr. Folarin Ayede when the group paid a courtesy visit to the APC Secretariat to make its support for the party in the coming election known.

He said, “Looking at the overall picture over the past years, all the past governors in Ondo State have something that always goes against us until Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu came on board and took the issues of non-indigenes residing in the state as a priority. He did appoint some of us into high positions in his government.

“We are mobilizing our members in the state for his reelection. For all, he has done and the much more he has promised to do for us is something to hold on to. We expect a record, high, a number of indigenous voters, especially, from Osun State to vote in his favor at the October 10 poll.”

In his response, the state Chairman of the APC, Mr. Ade Adetimehin appreciated the APC state Chairman in Osun State for leading the delegates to pledge their support. He also commended the support and loyalty of Osun State indigenes who are members of the party.
He said, “Osun indigenes in our party are doing well, they are very faithful party people who always stand by the party. They have remained committed to the ideals and ideologies of the progressives.”

He further said that their visitation will further boost the APC camp in Ondo State.

The Chairman of APC in Osun State, Mr. Adegboyega Famodun, lauded the party’s strategy in winning the election without violence. He reiterated the need for members to be committed to the course.

The members of the group however promised to go back to their respective wards and units to canvas for more votes for the party.
