The four members of the Assembly include Mr. Iroju Ogundeji, Mrs. Favour Tomomewo, Mr. Wale Williams, and Mr. Tomide Akinribido, were suspended by the leadership of the House for alleged gross misconduct during the heats of the 2020 governorship election in the state and were also among the nine lawmakers who opposed the impeachment notice served on the embattled Deputy Governor of the state, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, some months ago.
Mr. Ogundeji represents Odigbo Constituency I, Tomomewo represents Ilaje Constituency II while Akinribido and Williams are from Ondo West state Constituency I & II respectively in the Assembly.
In protest of their suspension, the embattled legislators approached the state High Court and the Court of Appeal to challenge the action of the Assembly against them which they won respectively but the leadership of the Assembly refused to reinstate them as directed by the Courts.
The four lawmakers also approached the Supreme Court of Nigeria in Abuja before they were finally reinstated on Monday.
