The newly elected Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Gboyega Aribisogan, has been impeached.
Mr Aribisogan who was elected six days ago was impeached and suspended indefinitely on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.
17 out of the 25 members of the House signed his impeachment note, according to TheCable.
The impeachment took place hours after Mr Aribisogan accused the immediate past governor of the State, Kayode Fayemi of colluding with honourable members to impeach him.
Though, former governor Fayemi didn’t respond to the allegation.
Olubunmi Adelugba was immediately elected as the new speaker.
The Ekiti Assembly crisis started 24 hours after Mr Aribisogan was elected as a speaker to replace Funminiyi Afuye who died after a brief illness days after Biodun Oyebanji was sworn in as the governor of the State.
