Ondo assembly elects new speaker

Olamide Oladiji, representing Ondo East constituency at the Ondo State House of Assembly has been elected as the speaker.

Olamide Oladiji, representing Ondo East constituency at the Ondo State House of Assembly has been elected as the speaker.

Oladiji was elected speaker shortly after the inauguration of the 10th assembly in the state on Saturday.

Temitope Komolafe, representing the Ifedore state constituency moved a motion for the nomination of Oladiji for the position of speaker.

The motion was seconded by Abiola Oladapo representing Ondo west state constituency.

Oladiji served as a member of the state’s 9th assembly and he became the deputy majority leader.
