Supreme court to deliver judgment on Adamawa’s governorship appeal suit

The Supreme Court on Monday reserved judgment in the appeal brought before it by the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its Adamawa State governorship candidate, Aisha Dahiru.

The Supreme Court on Monday reserved judgment in the appeal brought before it by the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its Adamawa State governorship candidate, Aisha Dahiru.

The appeal was against the victory of the state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the governorship election.

A five-member panel of the apex court led by John Okoro after listening to the parties adjourned the matter for judgment.

On December 18 2023, the court of appeal dismissed APC and Dahiru’s appeal against Governor Fintiri.

The governorship election tribunal that heard the suit had thrown out the suit by Dahiru and her party seeking to sack Fintiri.
