President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved tenure extension for the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap.
In a statement by Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, tenure extension was announced on Monday.
On March 1, 2024, Nandap, who joined NIS in 1989, was appointed as NIS CG by the President with her tenure set to expire in August 2025.
According to the statement, Onanuga said Nandap’s tenure has now been extended to December 31, 2026.
He said the NIS has “witnessed significant advancements” under the leadership of Nandap.
“President Tinubu commended the Comptroller-General for her exemplary leadership and urged her to continue dedicating herself to the Service’s strategic priorities, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement reads.
“The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service in fulfilling its mandate to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and promote safe, legal, and orderly migration.”
