Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Henry Seriake Dickson, is set to receive the Pillar of Nigerian Democracy Award at the Diplomatic Digest 6th Anniversary Lecture, Award and Dinner scheduled for Thursday, July 30, 2026, in Abuja.

According to a statement issued by the organisers, the award recognises Dickson’s contributions to democratic governance, constitutionalism, the rule of law and Nigeria’s democratic development through his years of public service.

The organisers described the lawmaker as a public servant who has consistently advocated democratic values, justice and good governance.

The event will take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre and is expected to attract senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, academics, media practitioners, civil society organisations and private sector leaders.

The organisers said the annual gathering is intended to recognise individuals whose leadership and public service have contributed to Nigeria’s democratic growth and national development.
