BREAKING: National Assembly Begins Process for Buhari’s Impeachment

ABUJA -Report says a Nigerian Lawmaker has said that the National Assembly will initiate an impeachment process for President Muhammadu Buhari if their security resolutions are not implemented.

The House of Representative had on Wednesday inaugurated a 40-man committee to find a solution to the country’s security challenges.

Speaking on Channels TV program on Thursday, the lawmaker representing the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Hon. Dachung Bagos, said that processes will be initiated if the committee’s resolutions are not acted upon by the Executive.

He said: “If the Executive had implemented 30 percent of the resolution and advice the National Assembly has been giving, I can assure you we couldn’t have reached this level.

He emphasized that the Lawmakers will give the Executive some moths after the summit by the inaugurated committee, and after few months, if the Executive fails to act, the lawmskers will call for the resignation of the President.

He also stated that it is clear that the Lawmakers has the power to impeach the President.

In his words, he said: “After this summit, if nothing is done – brainstorming, spending resources to bring out solutions – if the Executive does not do anything after some months, then definitely we will call for the resignation of the President

“We have the power to impeach the President if he can no longer secure the lives and properties of Nigerians.,” he concluded.
