Osinbajo represents Nigeria at Sierra Leone’s 60th independence day

ABUJA- Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the 60th independence day celebration of Sierra Leone taking place today in the country’s capital, Freetown. 

According to a statement issued by the Vice President’s media aide, Laolu Akande said Osinbajo would be joined by several other heads of States and Governments from Africa and beyond who are expected at the event.

Historically, Nigeria and Sierra Leone have shared cherished and cordial relations right from colonial times.

The relationship has continued and evident in the socio-economic, technical, and security cooperation over the years.   

The Vice President who leaves Abuja this morning would be accompanied by the Foreign Affairs Minister of State, Ambassador Zubairu Dada among others.  

The Vice President is expected back in Abuja later today.
