Buhari Suspends Hadiza Bala Usman as NPA Managing Director

ABUJA – Report says President Muhammadu had on Thursday approved the suspension of Hadiza Bala Usman as the MD/CEO of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) few months after he extended her stay in office for another 5 years.

Confirming the new development, the Presidential Spokesperson, Garba Shehu, issued a statement late Thursday night stating the the President has asked her “step aside” while an investigation is being carried out on some corruption allegations taking place in the NPA.

The statement reads: “President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the recommendation of the Ministry of Transportation under Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi for the setting up of an Administrative Panel of Inquiry to investigate the Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA

“Mr Mohammed Koko will act in that position.The panel is to be headed by the Director, Maritime Services of the Ministry while the Deputy Director, Legal of the same ministry will serve as Secretary.

“Other members of the panel will be appointed by the Minister,” the statement reads
