We’re investigating EFCC’s suspended chairperson—DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested the suspended Chairperson of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested the suspended Chairperson of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa.

Bawa arrived at DSS headquarters yesterday night and he is being investigated for alleged abuse of office and corruption.

DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya in a statement confirmed Bawa’s arrest on Wednesday.

“The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“Bawa arrived a few hours ago. The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him”, the statement reads.

The Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) reported that President Bola Tinubu suspended Bawa from office indefinitely.
