The meeting between the Federal Government and the Nigeria Labour Congress has ended in a deadlock.

The PUNCH reports that another meeting has been scheduled for a later date to continue talks.

The meeting followed the threat issued by the NLC to embark on an indefinite strike if the Federal Government fails to address the hardship in the country.

According to the labour union, President Tinubu’s administration has propagated  “anti-poor” policies which are bringing untold hardships to the citizens of the country.

Solomon Lalong, minister of labour and employment invited the leadership of the NLC to a meeting in in Abuja on Monday.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the ministry, the national president of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, the general secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, national president of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Titus Amba among others.

It was gathered that no major decision or resolution was reached at the end of the meeting.
