Oludaisi Omokungbe of Technocrat Media Africa emerges 2019 fellow of NSIG

The Chief Executive Officer and Lead Strategist of Technocrat Media Africa has emerged one of the fellows of the first Nigeria School on Internet Governance alongside other forty-four (44) emerging leaders by the Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter.

According to Mr Joshua Joshua on behalf of the organizing team, the school received a total of 650 applications from notable young Nigerians willing to be part of the fellowship. After thorough screening and scrutiny, forty-five (45) out of the applicants emerged fellows.

The new fellows have been officially invited to participate in the upcoming School on Internet Governance in Lagos from 7 – 12th July, 2019. They are to gain knowledge and network from the Internet industry and governance professionals from around the nation. The school offers will offer fellows the unique opportunity to participate in numerous educational and informational activities directly related to their field of expertise.

Fellows will be participating at the Nigeria Youth Internet Governance Forum and Nigeria Internet Governance Forum on separate days in Lagos.

According to Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter, the main objective of the Nigeria School on Internet Governance is to train new leaders of opinion in all aspects related to Internet Governance, from a global perspective and with focus on the Nigeria perspective.

The program helps fellows working in the private sector as well as in government to get comprehensive and structured knowledge on Internet governance. To better understand the complexity related to Internet governance and its importance in the future of the Internet.

The mission of the Nigeria School on Internet Governance is to:

  1. Increase the number of representatives from Nigeria in the international Internet Governance debate spaces.
  2. Motivate its participants presenting their opinions and to become active participants in Internet Governance meetings and activities, where the future of the Internet is shaped.
  3. Make the participants become the future leaders on Internet Governance in the Nigeria space and region.
