The REC also stated that the commission would go-ahead to conduct the gubernatorial as planned despite the Corona Virus pandemic. He explained that the commission would put in place and adhere to all precautionary measures as prescribed by health officials and the government to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic during the conduct of the election.
He further assured all participating political parties, candidates, and electorates of the commission’s readiness to conduct a free, fair, and credible election.
The REC added that some of the ad-hoc staff to be engaged for the election would be sourced online while documents containing the guidelines for the election would be made public soon.
