AfDB reelects Adesina as president for second term

Former Minister for Agriculture, Akinwumi Adesina has been re-elected as the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) President for a second term.
Mr. Adesina was re-elected on Thursday at the bank’s virtual annual general meeting which took place electronically.
The Presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad, made this known on twitter today. He tweeted, “Nigeria’s Dr. Akinwumi Adesina has been re-elected as the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB). With this re-election, he will spend another 5 years supervising the affairs of the Bank. Congratulations!”
Mr. Adesina was said to have appealed on Wednesday for a second term in office after several months of alleged corruption and poor governance.
