NAOSS Empowers Ondo Students on Digital Skills, Opens Portal for Second Batch

AKURE- The National Association of Ondo State Students has impacted 20 Ondo students who had started developing their competencies in their chosen digital field as One NAOSSite One Skill initiative graduates her first batch.

NAOSS through its social enterprise program ensuring that young people have access to digital skills and knowledge hopes to empower another 1000 Ondo students over the next 45 weeks with skills relevant to the future of work.

The association led by Comr. Kikiowo Ayoade David in partnership with MOTIVAR has successfully trained students on courses like Data Analysis, Graphics Design, Product and Project Management, Forex and Cryptocurrency, Copywriting, Blogging, and Digital Marketing.

A participant from Ifedore, Oluwayemisi Olagbaiye who studies Linguistics at the Obafemi Awolowo University regarded the training as a meaningful step in the year.

Olagbaiye said:

I learnt how to be a writer…create a business letter, memos and everything needed to be known about building a career as a copywriter

She added that the knowledge would also help her in her final-year project at the university.

The initiative was applauded by the Special Adviser to the Governor On Entrepreneurship, Summy Smart Francis, and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Dotun Owanikin.

The set skill was aimed at tackling unemployment by empowering Ondo state students with relevant digital skills. Successful participants will receive N5000 to cover the cost of data incurred during the learning period.

The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mrs. Dupe Eshofonie will present certificates to successful participants via a virtual graduation ceremony.

Registration for the second batch is ongoing through https://www.naoss.com.ng/one-skill as training is slated to commence on January 31, 2021.
