AKURE – An Organized Public Hearing on a bill for a law to establish the Ondo State Drugs and Health commodities management and other matters connected therewith held at the Ondo State House of Assembly on Thursday.
The convener of the meeting, Abiodun Falaye laid more emphasis on how the Agency would be saddled with the responsibilities of regulating the drug industry in the State.
He also stated that there would be centralization of drugs supply and the availability of quality drugs to the people of Ondo State.
Declaring the public hearing open, the Speaker of the House, Bamidele Oleyelogun said that the enactment of the law would bring about quality health delivery in the state.
In a reaction to the passing of the bill, Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, Stella Adegbehingbe, said the Association is not aware of the bill.
During the hearing, various medical bodies pointed out lapses in the bill which needs amendment, Lawmakers promised to look into the lapses and ensure proper consideration.
