According to an Eyewitness Who revealed that the 3 students were being transported on a motorcycle popularly called ‘okada’ when the driver of the articulate vehicle in an attempt to avoid hitting an animal by the roadside rammed into them, crushing all 3 students to death.

When contacted, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Oyo state Command, Mrs Uche Winifred Chukwurah said over-speeding on the part of the tipper driver and over-loading on the part of the motorcyclist caused the accident.

Chukwurah said if only the motorcyclist had adhered to the safety precaution of one rider and one passenger, the number of casualty would have been lesser.
She confirmed the number of the people involved in the accident to be six.

She said “We were just called for a rescue and by the point my team got there around 8:45AM, we were able to rescue the victims and took them to the hospital.
