OYO – Report says The Oyo State Government has lost the case initiated by the Oyo State Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) against the illegal removal of the elected Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State.
In a judgement delivered by the Supreme Court on Friday, it was ruled that the tenures of the sacked Council chairmen and Councilors have expired but all outstanding salaries and allowances must be paid with immediate effect.
The court also fined the Oyo State Government with a sum of N20million for perpetrating illegality.
