LAGOS – Chidinma Ojukwu, the embattled 300L student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), says she is not guilty to the murder of Usifo Ataga, the late CEO of Super TV as she pleaded in court.
TheCable in a report said the 21-year-old student was arraigned alongside Adedapo Quadri, another key suspect in the case, at the Lagos high court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Tuesday.
Chidinma and other suspects were arraigned on eight counts of charges bordering on the offences of murder, forgery, and stealing.
In the court session, presided over by Yetunde Adesanya, the judge, both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court also arraigned Egbuchu Chioma, Chidinma’s sister for alleged possession of Ataga’s phone pleaded not guilty to the theft charge.
The 300-level mass communication student and other suspects in the case are being prosecuted by the Lagos state directorate of public prosecutions (DPP) team led by Olayinka Adeyemi.
The Super TV CEO, Ataga was stabbed to death and left in the pool of his own blood inside a Lagos hotel on June 15.
Chidinma after arrest in connection with the murder, confessed to stabbling Ataga “twice on the neck region” alleging that he forcefully had sex with her.
After a while in the police net, Chidinma denied her initial confession that she killed Ataga.
