The lower chamber of the national assembly has asked the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited to suspend companies involved in the importation of sub-standard petrol.
The green chamber tasked the NNPC to provide the names of the companies to its house committee for probe and investigation.
Mohammed Monguno, a member of the House of Representatives moved a motion of urgent public importance during a plenary session on Thursday following which was unanimously adopted.
Mele Kyari, group managing director of the NNPC Limited, had listed MRS, Oando, Emadeb Consortium, and Duke Oil, a subsidiary of the NNPC as the companies that imported the methanol-blended petrol.
