2021/2022: FEDPOLEL resumes, appoint acting Dean, HOD

The Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji has announced the resumption of academic activities for the 2021/2022 session.

The Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji has announced the resumption of academic activities for the 2021/2022 session.

According to the statements issued by the deputy registrar, information, protocol & passages of the polytechnic, Sanmi Enigbokan said, the management also approved the appointments of Dr Oluesan Adegoke as the pioneer acting dean of the students’ affairs as well as Engr. Iwayemi as acting head of department, computer engineering technology.

FEDPOLEL: RESUMPTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES FOR 2021/2022 ACADEMIC SESSION.
This is to notify the Polytechnic Community and the general public that the Academic Board of Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, at its 28th Statutory Meeting held on 17th January 2022, approved that the resumption of full academic activities for the 2021/2022 session is scheduled for Monday, 28th February 2022.
As a sequel to this, Management has directed that all Fresh Students (ND1) should resume on Monday, 28th February 2022, while Returning Students (ND11) are to resume on Monday,14th March 2022.
As a prerequisite for registration, all Fresh Students and Returning Students are to make full payment of their Acceptance Fee and prescribed School Charges as applicable; as failure would amount to forfeiture of studentship.
They are also expected to download their Course Forms and Bio-Data Forms on the Polytechnic’s portal via:applications.fedpolel.edu.ng.

The management wishes all Staff and Students a successful and fulfilling academic session.

FEDPOLEL MANAGEMENT APPOINTS PIONEER ACTING DEAN FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ACTING HEAD FOR CET

The Management of Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State has approved the appointment of Engr. Dr. ADEGOKE Benjamin Olusesan as the pioneer Acting Dean of Student Affairs Division of the Polytechnic with immediate effect. The appointment which is for one (1) year duration in the first instance is conveyed in a letter signed by the Institution’s Registrar with reference number: FPI/REG/APPT.AC./40/022/002 dated 24th February 2022.

As Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Engr. Adegoke will be responsible to the Rector and the Academic Board through appropriate channels for the effective supervision of all academic and administrative activities of the Division.

He is expected to provide quality leadership in the discharge of his duties and responsibilities as well as be a team builder in the pursuit of upholding the highest standards of academic excellence in the Division and in the Institution at large.

Until his appointment, Engr. Adegoke is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Computer Engineering in the Institution. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Computer Engineering in 2001; a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Computer Science in 2012 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science (Pattern Recognition) in 2019 all from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho. He is a registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) in 2016; a member of the Nigeria Computer Society (2015); Nigeria Society of Engineers (2012) and Nigeria Institute of Electrical Electronics Engineers (2016).

Engr. Adegoke is a resourceful scholar with a number of publications to his credit. Within his field of specialisation, he has published twenty-three (23) journal articles; fourteen (14) conference proceedings, and two (2) manuscripts for publication. He has equally contributed chapters to books on ‘’ Basic Concepts in Computer Technology’’ and ‘’ Introduction to Computer Software’’. His current research activities are on Design and Fabrication of Smart Inverter for Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FEDPOLEL) Library, and Design and Construction of a Reverse- Engineered 7.5 KVA Smart Hybrid Inverter for Computer Software Laboratory in FEDPOLEL.

He has attended several conferences and workshops and has served the Polytechnic as a member, Covid-19, and School Re-opening Committee, among others.

In a related development, Management has also approved the appointment of Engr. IWAYEMI Ayodeji as acting Head of Department of Computer Engineering Technology (CET) with immediate effect. His appointment is for one (1) year duration in the first instance and will be responsible to the Rector and the Academic Board in the discharge of his duties and responsibilities to the Department.

Engr. Iwayemi until his appointment is a Lecturer I in the Department of Computer Engineering Technology. He is a registered Engineer with (COREN) in 2016, and holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Engineering in 2008 from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science in 2016 from the University of Ibadan and Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) in Computer Engineering in 2019 from the University of Benin. He has published thirteen (13) journal articles and seven (7) conference proceedings. He is currently a member of the Polytechnic’s Committee on Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
