The protesters in their numbers display placards with various inscriptions such as ‘The poor are starving,’ ‘Tinubu, don’t forget your promises’, ‘No more emilokan’, ‘No more elofokanbale’, among others.

Policemen have deployed to the area to guard the protesters against taking the law into their hands.

The police command in the State had on Sunday warned that no breach of peace would be allowed during any protest in the state.

Eight months into the Tinubu administration, Nigerians have been complaining bitterly about the current situation which has affected their well-being and survival.

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) revealed that the food inflation rate in January 2024 climbed to 35.41 per cent which soared from 24.32 per cent in January 2023 on a year-on-year basis.
