The Action Democratic Party (ADP) gubernatorial election in Ondo State, Martin Olateru-Olagbegi, has slammed the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu over his decision to reduce tuition in tertiary institutions.
Mr. Olateru-olagbegi described Governor Akeredolu’s action as a political gimmick intended to canvass for the people’s votes.
He said,” This is a pure political gimmick to deceive people of the state. He wants to use it to fool the people to get their votes.
“I know the people of the state cannot be fooled by the governor’s latest antic’
He added that the incumbent government has ruined the state’s capitals despite its rich natural resources.
Olateru-Olagbegi, however, vowed to resuscitate the state in the areas of agriculture, health, and security if elected as governor.
“It is no longer safe to leave our lives and we can’t leave our destiny and economic future of our children in the hands of a political party that is so insensitive to the plight of the citizens.
“Nigeria vis-à-vis our dear Ondo State, my primary constituency is gradually becoming a failed state, everything good is now once upon a time – poverty has replaced wealth, insecurity in the place of safety, poor education and grossly inadequate social and infrastructure facilities and amenities, etc.
“Posterity will not be fair to us and that is the simple reason that I Prince Martin Kunle Olateru-Olagbegi offer myself to bring about the needed restoration in the economic and socio-political destiny of Ondo State and I call on all well-meaning citizens of this great nation to do same in their respective states and even at the national under our great party ADP”, he said.
