Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) has replied the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike who had earlier alleged that the party is planning on rigging the forthcoming October 10 governorship election. Saying that it has no reason to contemplate rigging the poll in the state because of the popularity and confidence the party and its candidate as gained on account of performance.
In his response to the allegation, the state APC Publicity Secretary, Mr. Alex Kalejaiye, said the PDP is coming up with all sorts of allegations against the APC because of its fear of losing the election like it did in the 2016 poll.
Mr. Alex Kalejaiye said decency politics and transparent election is strange to Governor Wike which is why he made such allegations against the party.
He said, “APC in Ondo State has no reason to contemplate rigging in a state where it has won the confidence of the people on account of performance and integrity.
“For the benefits of Mr. Wike, we are banking on the popularity of our candidate, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, that of his running mate, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa, and the projects APC led government has initiated and executed in less than four years.”
Mr. Kalejaiye said the APC-led government has constructed roads, bridges, and schools; built an industrial hub, and has started the extraction and production of bitumen in the state. “We have recorded unprecedented intervention in agriculture, and are currently pursuing, with uncommon vigor, building a deep seaport in the Southern Senatorial District, to boost the economy of the state.”
He reiterated that the party will not be a part of rigging or any form of violence during the election. He added that the APC will continue to plea to the people of Ondo State to re-elect Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu so that the good works can continue.
