ABUJA, Nigeria — July 27, 2026
The StackLabs Innovation Ltd/Gte has announced plans to launch the Abuja Innovation Ecosystem Connect (AIEC).
AIEC is a new monthly platform aimed at fostering collaboration among innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, development partners and technology leaders in Nigeria’s capital city.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the organisation’s Communications Officer, Joseph Akujuobi, the inaugural edition of the initiative will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the StackLabs Innovation Hub in Gwarinpa, Abuja.
The organisers said the platform is designed to strengthen collaboration across Abuja’s innovation ecosystem by creating a recurring space for dialogue, networking, knowledge exchange and partnerships focused on entrepreneurship, enterprise development and digital transformation in the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and data.
Founder of StackLabs Innovation, Daisi Omokungbe, described the initiative as a private-sector effort to improve coordination within the city’s innovation ecosystem and encourage sustained collaboration among stakeholders.
According to him, building competitive innovation ecosystems requires continuous engagement rather than isolated conferences and one-off events.
“AIEC is not a one-off event. It is a monthly ecosystem infrastructure—a recurring platform where ideas, capital, policy and talent meet consistently until collaboration becomes the norm rather than the exception,” Omokungbe said.
The maiden edition will feature a keynote presentation titled “Building Abuja’s Collaborative Innovation Ecosystems for Sustainable Development,” to be delivered by Dr. Osasuyi Dirisu, Executive Director of the Policy Innovation Centre.
Organisers said future editions of the programme will examine emerging issues shaping Nigeria’s innovation landscape, including artificial intelligence adoption, startup growth, enterprise leadership, civic innovation, digital transformation, public policy, regulation, compliance and the future of work.
The platform is also expected to feature startup showcases, networking sessions, collaboration cafés and partnership opportunities designed to support innovation-driven economic growth and strengthen Abuja’s position as a leading technology and entrepreneurship hub.
