AKURE – The Ondo State 2020 gubernatorial election tribunal, has resumed sitting on Tuesday, with APC and INEC counsels, dismissing the claims by the petitioners.
Ahead of the October 10, 2020 governorship election, it was the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to sponsor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, as its flag bearer, while the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP), Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, has cross-examined and had faulted both the selection process of the candidate of APC, the collation of the election results by the INEC.
Chief Charles Uyi Edosomwan, SAN, and Chief Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, leading counsels to the Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC), and the All Progressives Congress, APC argued that the claims by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was purely a pre-election affair.
The leading counsels went ahead to cross-examine the candidate of PDP, Mr.Eyitayo Jegede.
During the cross-examination, counsel to the second respondent, Charles Edosanmiwan asked the witness if he knew he had spent 90% of his written statement of oath on the dispute in APC.

The witness answered: I’m challenging the breach of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria and the Electoral Act in the sponsorship of the first and second respondent.
However, the sitting has been adjourned till Wednesday, 13th January, 2021.
