Rotimi Akeredolu, Governor of Ondo state is dead after a prolonged battle with the deadly Leukemia.
SaharaReporters reports that a family revealed that the governor had died on Wednesday morning.
SaharaReporters learnt that he was managed by State House doctors up to his death because they could not fly him abroad.
“Akeredolu is dead; he died in Lagos,” the source said.
“They were looking for dialysis machines to be sent to his secret location in Lagos last week.”
Akeredolu was 67 years old.
In September, the ailing governor returned to Nigeria following a three-month medical leave in Germany and has stayed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
He recently proceeded on another one after the intervention of President Bola Tinubu who directed him to hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
On December 13, the Ondo State House of Assembly declared Aiyedatiwa as the Acting Governor of the State.
