Uganda Polls: Frauds, Violence, and Deaths Recorded as Wine Rejects Results

UGANDA- As the people of Uganda trooped out on Thursday to vote in their next president from the respective candidates participating in the presidential election.

The main contenders, Yoweri Museveni, the sitting president, and  Bobi Wine, the opposition leader were the main popular candidates for the poll.

According to citizens of Uganda with the trend of the election, it has been described as the survival of the fittest between the duo, with a record of about 54 confirmed deaths.

As the counting of votes continues, Wine has rejected the results declared so far and calls himself the president-elect, despite the electoral body saying some votes are yet to be counted.

In a statement, via social media handle Wine tweeted ” Despite the irregularities, we secured a comfortable lead against Yoweri Museveni. I am confident that we defeated the dictator. I call on all Ugandans to reject the blackmail, stand up and claim their win”
