Breaking: Bandits Kidnap Pupils, Abduct Teachers in Kaduna

KADUNA – Armed bandits have kidnapped pupils and teachers in a primary school located in Rema, Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna State on Monday morning.

In a Statement by the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan says the state government received security reports of kidnapping of pupils and teachers in Birnin Gwari Local government.

According to the Statement, the incident occurred at an LEA Primary School in the Local government.

According to report, Kaduna State Government is currently obtaining details on the actual number of pupils and teachers reported to have been kidnapped and will issue a comprehensive statement as soon as possible.

A resident said: “They came in a convoy of motorcycles with guns. They invaded the school and started shooting. Everybody ran for cover. They took some of the pupils and teachers away. We saw a parent, who just dropped his child, running after them because they took his child away also”.
