Dr Akinwumi Adesina, president of African Development Bank has queried why the developed nations are rushing to ban African countries over the COVID-19 variant, Omicron.

Dr Adesina said this on Sunday in some tweets throught his verified Twitter handle.

The world food prize laureate worried that Omicron has been found in some non-African countries and why are travels from those countries are not banned.

“Now that Omicron has been found in many non-African and developed countries, why are travels from those countries not banned. Why single out African countries? Singling out African countries is very unfair, non-scientific and discriminatory. Lift bans on African countries.”
