Flutterwave hits above $3bn in value after new $250m funding

The Nigerian fintech company, Flutterwave says it has raised fresh funding of $250m making the company now valued at over $3 billion

The Nigerian fintech company, Flutterwave says it has raised fresh funding of $250m making the company now valued at over $3 billion.

The fintech which is working on transforming the way Africans transact across the continent and globally said its latest backers include respected investors led by B Capital Group, and with participation from Alta Park Capital, Whale Rock Capital, Lux Capital, among others.

Other several investors that followed this round, include Glynn Capital, Avenir Growth, Tiger Global, Green Visor Capital and Salesforce Ventures, the company source said.

Flutterwave added that the new funds will drive the company’s ambitious plan for expansion to accelerate customer acquisition in existing markets and growth through M&A and develop complementary products while encouraging innovations in its products and services development.

Last year, according to TheCable, Flutterwave raised $170 million from investors. Flutterwave in less than has found its way to become one of Africa’s highest-valued fintech startups.

According to the company, it had processed over 200 million transactions worth over $16 billion across 34 countries in Africa, serving over 900,000 businesses across the globe since inception.
