Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says only the northerners are thinking about Nigeria.

Mr Atiku said this during an interactive session organised by the Arewa Joint Committee (AJC) in the Arewa house auditorium, Kaduna monitored on Arise TV.

He said the northerners are thinking about the country because they are multi-ethnic groups, multi-religious and multi-culture.

“The northerners are the only ones talking about Nigeria because we are multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-culture.

“Others are talking Yoruba nation or Igbo nation or whatever they call themselves. In Yoruba, it is only the Yoruba ethnic group, no other ones.

“In Igbo, it is only the Igbo ethnic group, no other ones. But Hausa is made up of several ethnic groups,” Mr Atiku said.

The PDP candidate said he fought the governor of Benue Samuel Ortom when he said the Fulani are the one’s kidnapping, killing and stealing in the state.

He said the northern people should look into new ways of rearing cows and other animals without moving out of their zones to other zones.

According to him, he has an animal husbandry farm in Adamawa with over 1000 cows and he said the cows have never moved out of the farm.

“As a people, we must think of new ways of doing our cow-rearing business without having to move to the order zones in the country,” he said.
