In March, the federal government announced the suspension of operations on the route after an attack on the train on March 28, leading to the death and abduction of several passengers.

Their abductor released the passengers in batches, with the last set freed in October after different ransoms were paid by victims.

Last month, after the release of all abducted passengers, the federal government said the next line of action is the resumption of operations on the route.

The government also added that full security would be deployed to guide against further attacks on the train operations on the route.
