Amid the rumour of the resignation of the Ondo State House of Assembly (ODHA) speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun, security operatives have taken over the assembly complex.

On Friday morning, a letter of resignation purportedly from Oleyelogun was being circulated on social media.

In the letter dated June 1, addressed to the clerk, the speaker said he ceases to be the speaker of the House, following his decision to resign from office with effect from June 1, 2023.

TECHNOCRATMEDIA contacted a ranking member of the House who doesn’t want his name mentioned, saying it is not true that the speaker has resigned.

He said the current happening in ODHA is part of the intricacies of leadership calculations ahead of the inauguration of the 10th session of the state assembly in the state.

The inauguration of the 10th assembly in the state is scheduled for June 3.
