Femi Gbajabiamila, the immediate past speaker of the House of Representatives has resigned his membership from the 10th National Assembly.
Gbajabiamila had won his 6th term election to the lower chamber but was appointed by President Tinubu as chief of staff (CoS).
The former speaker has to resign from the House of Representatives to resume as CoS to the president, today June 14.
Tinubu had stated that Gbajabiamila is to resume on June 14 after he must have completed his term as speaker and resigned from the 10th reps.
The speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, is expected to declare Surulere federal constituency I vacant to allow the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a bye-election.
