President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of board members and a management team for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
In a statement on Tuesday, Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesperson, disclosed the development.
According to him, Chiedu Ebie from Delta was appointed the chairman of the board of the commission while Samuel Ogbuku from Bayelsa is the managing director and chief executive officer (CEO).
The appointment also covers three executive directors for the management team.
They include Boma Iyaye from Rivers to serves as executive director, finance and admin.
Victor Antai also from Rivers State will serve as executive director for projects while Ifedayo Abegunde from Ondo State is for corporate services.
The state and zonal representatives in the commission include:
Dimaro Denyanbofa – State Representative (Bayelsa)
Abasi Ndikan Nkono – State Representative (Akwa Ibom)
Monday Igbuya – State Representative (Delta)
Tony Okocha – State Representative (Rivers)
Patrick Aisowieren – State Representative (Edo)
Kyrian Uchegbu – State Representative (Imo)
Victor Kolade Akinjo – State Representative (Ondo)
Dimgba Eruba – State Representative (Abia)
Asu Oku Okang – State Representative (Cross River)
Nick Wende – Zonal Representative (north-central)
Namdas Abdulrazak – Zonal Representative (north-east)
Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir – Zonal Representative (north-west)
Tinubu asked the new board and management team to work in line with his renewed hope agenda.
However, TechnocratMedia discovered that two members of the opposition party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were appointed by the President.
Boma Iyaye from Rivers who is to serve as the commission’s executive director, finance and admin and is a member of the PDP. He is the immediate past commissioner for sports in Rivers State.
Also, Victor Kolade Akinjo, a former member of the House of Representatives is a member of the PDP from Ondo state.
