Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has sworn in caretaker committee chairmen for the 23 Local Government Councils in the State.
The swearing-in ceremony occurred on Wednesday morning at the Council Chambers of Government House, Port Harcourt.
The caretaker chairmen were earlier screened by the Rivers House of Assembly.
The tenure of the former chairmen whose tenure had expired on Monday.
The State has been engulfed in a crisis as the chairmen attempted to continue in office because the pro-Wike faction of the State’s assembly extended their tenure by six months over the failure of Fubara to conduct elections.
In a development during the crisis, the governor directed them to hand over power to Heads of Administration, whom he asked to await further directives.
The governor thereafter transmitted a list of caretaker chairmen to the assembly, which in turn cleared them for inauguration.

6. Asari Toru LGA – Orolosoma Amachree
7. Bonny LGA – Alabota Anengi Barasua
8. Degema LGA – Anthony Soberekon
9. Eleme LGA – Brain Gokpa
10. Emouha LGA – David Omereji
11. Etche LGA – John Otamiri
12. Gokana LGA – Kenneth Kpeden
13. Ikwerre LGA – Darlington Orji
14. Khana LGA – Marvin Yobana
15. Obia/Akpor LGA – Chijioke Ihunwo
