The federal government has approved the upward review of the fees for the country’s international passport effective September 1, 2024.
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) disclosed this in a press release on Wednesday signed by DCI KT Udo, NIS public relations officer.
The statement reads: “As part of its efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian standard passport, the federal government has approved an upward review of the fees for the passport effective from September 1, 2024.
“Based on the review, a 32-page passport booklet with 5 years validity previously charged at Thirty-Five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00) will now be Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00) only; while a 64-page passport booklet with 10 years validity which was Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00) will now be One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00) only.
The statement, however, said the fees for Nigerians in diaspora to acquire a passport remain unchanged.
The Service assured Nigerians that it would continue to operate with unwavering commitment to transparency and quality service delivery at all times.
