Abuja, Nigeria
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), says 4,700 properties are to be sealed over failure to pay their ground rents.
FCTA top officials have launched an enforcement operation to seal more than 4,700 properties over the non-payment of ground rent in Abuja on Monday.
On March 18, 2025, the FCT Administration reported a revenue loss exceeding N6 billion, citing over a decade of non-compliance by numerous property owners. That same day, the administration revoked the land titles of 4,794 defaulters.
Recall that the FCTA has revoked the land title of the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The government authority said many publications have been made by the FCT Administration since 2023 in several national dailies and on electronic media requesting all allottees of plots in the Federal Capital Territory to pay up every outstanding bill and ground rent on their property.
