Oseni Rufai, a broadcaster with Arise News, has been fined N70,000 for contravening the Lagos State Transport Law (2018) by a court in the state.
Mr Rufai, on Monday, had some disagreements with the officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) after he was accused of driving on the bus line (BRT lanes) in Lagos.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman of the Lagos State command of the NPF, said the broadcast was brought to court on Wednesday where he was found guilty.
According to him, the court fined the journalist a sum of N70,000 for contravening the traffic law of the state—which he paid and his car was released to him.
Meanwhile, Arises New had posted a video of Mr Rufai on Wednesday morning where he apologised to Nigerians for what transpired on Monday.
He added that he didn’t claim to know everything and had learned his lessons from the incident.
